The Best CS:GO Case to Open in 2021 | What is it?
A CS:GO Case is a box containing collectible items that can be used for your own game or traded with other players. Every single one has the potential to have many different items inside, some of which might turn out to be quite rare and valuable. However, you’ll need a key to open these, and you have to purchase those separately. In this guide, we’ll walk you through which cases are the best in the game and identify our top pick to help you out. Let’s start by defining what a Case is, though.
What is a CS:GO Case?
A CS:GO Case is the equivalent of a loot box. They have a guarantee to provide a certain selection of items from a pre-defined pool. The odds of getting an incredibly rare item are low, and your chances of getting items increase the more common and lower grade they are. Some cases need a key to be unlocked, while others don’t because you’ve purchased the case itself. You can collect and trade these cases because the items inside are set as soon as you earn them. If you don’t want to open them, you can profit by selling them to someone who does, through services like Lootbear.
What is the Best CS:GO Case to Open for Profit?
The thing about Cases is that they don’t generally sell for as much as an individual skin will if it’s rare. However, Cases still carry a decent value because of the chance of you earning something rare from them. Some players even trade keys because of that same chance that a player could net themselves an incredibly rare skin somewhere along the line.
The best Case to open if you want a good chance of grabbing a rare skin that you can sell for profit is a Souvenir Package. These aren’t widely available, though. With those aside, Operation Hydra Cases are great. The Cases sell for around $5, but the skins you can get from them are phenomenal. However, you could spend $25 on Cases and end up with absolutely nothing. Whereas if you rent a skin for the same price on Lootbear, you could end up using a $400 skin for a fraction of the price.
Types of Cases
There are a few types of Cases in CS:GO. In this section, we’re going to go through them so that you’re familiar with everything you can earn in the game.
Weapon Case
A weapon case is exactly what it sounds like. These were introduced in the Arms Dealer update and drop after completing a game on a VAC secured server. There are a few types of weapon cases, such as Prisma, and you’ll need the matching type of key to open the case.
Every Weapon Case contains weapon skins. These can be attached to any of your weapons, and you’ll see them in-game the next time you use that weapon. If you don’t want to use them, you can sell the skins through various marketplaces. There’s always a chance that you’ll get a rare skin, say gloves or knives, when opening a Weapon Case, but there’s no guarantee. This is the chance that every player takes when they open a case.
There are three major types of cases outside of their names versions. The black cases contain skins created by Valve. There are eSports cases which contain skins created by Valve for an eSports event. These require a very specific type of key. Finally, there are yellow cases that have user-created skins. You’ll need a key that matches this type of case if you want to access these skins, the cost of which supports the creator.
Sticker Capsules
Another type of case in CS:GO is Sticker Capsules. These don’t contain weapon skins. Instead, they have stickers. You’ll still need a key to open them, but the stickers are arguably more valuable than the skins you might earn. There’s a lot of space for sticker collecting in CS:GO, and if you attach a full set to a weapon skin, then you could end up with a ridiculously valuable one.
There are three main types of Sticker Capsule. Each one requiring its own type of key. Yellow Sticker Capsules are random, and you’ll get a sticker from a randomized pool. The red Sticker Capsules contain user created stickers. The users that made those stickers will benefit from the money you spend on the key to open them. Lastly, we have the blue Sticker Capsules. These are event-based stickers, and all the money you spend goes towards the companies involved. You’ll be buying these directly from the store, so there’s no chance of one dropping from a match unless Valve explicitly says so.
Souvenir Packages
This is a type of case that is only available during CS:GO championship matches. There’s no need for a key with them since they’re purchased directly from the store. The weapon skins you get from these are Souvenir quality and drop with stickers already attached. These are curated stickers that look like some of the best in the game. They’re also so rare that most players don’t think they’ll ever get one. Hold out long enough, and you just might.
